When the dog has just arrived in an unfamiliar environment or is frightened, it will feel nervous, resulting in an increased breathing rate and hiccups. The owner can hold the dog in his arms and stroke his head more often to let it relax gradually. Alternatively, the owner can gently massage the dog’s neck to help relieve the stress caused by excessive tension.

If the dog catches a cold, there will also be hiccups. In addition to hiccups, the dog may also have a runny nose and other phenomena, at this time the owner should help the dog keep warm in time, hold it in his arms for warmth, or cover it with a mattress. When the dog’s body warms up, the hiccup phenomenon will slowly disappear.
